OUR HISTORY
The Beginning: A New Path
About seven or eight years ago, Black Forest Productions was born out of a tough moment. I had to quit my job as a heating systems builder because my back gave out. That made me realize: breaking myself for someone else’s dream wasn’t the life I wanted. After trying different jobs and never finding my thing, one random day, I stumbled across a YouTube video. Someone was producing a song playback on their laptop, and I was hooked. It felt like a sign. That moment lit a fire in me – I could see a future in music.
Learning the Ropes: From Passion to Progress
With no real plan but a lot of excitement, I got started. I downloaded some basic software, grabbed cheap speakers, and taught myself everything – watching videos, trying things out, and learning step by step. My best friend Sven was there from the start, supporting me and believing in the potential of what we were building. I kept working side jobs to pay for gear and rent, but every free moment went into making beats and learning. At first, I worked with artists for free, just to build experience, but as I got better, I started charging. That’s when it all started to feel real.
Building Black Forest: From Home Studio to Real Studio
Sven and I took things step by step. We started small, working from my one-room apartment and later even from home studios. But we always had a bigger vision. We wanted a space where artists could come, create, and feel inspired. In 2023, we finally found the perfect spot in Baden-Baden. It wasn’t easy, but together we built our first real studio.
The Struggles: Staying Strong Through It All
The journey wasn’t without challenges. Building the studio came with high costs and endless tasks. At one point, I even tried expanding into a second room to grow faster, but it was too much too soon. Even a side job didn’t help, as I lost it due to company cuts. But no matter how tough it got, Sven and I kept pushing forward. Black Forest Productions wasn’t just a project anymore – it was a dream we couldn’t let go of.
Now: Black Forest Productions in Full Effect
Fast forward to 2025, and that dream is finally taking shape. Our studio is fully set up, complete with a vocal booth and all the upgrades we always wanted. Sven is still right here with me, and together we’re building more than just a business – we’re building a space where artists can grow, create, and express themselves. And now, with our online shop about to launch, we’re ready to take Black Forest Productions to the next level.
